Thanks for the info / Hotel Riu Santa Fe

Hey can anyone tell me about the Riu Santa Fe Hotel, is it very far the cantina? Will I have to take cabs everywhere?

Riu Santa Fe

I stayed there during last year's Birthday Bash; and will be doing so again this year... Hotel is about 3 miles from downtown Cabo, so yes you'll need to take cabs to get downtown. Taxi's are fairly inexpensive; $10 for a cab so round up a carload and the price is still the same, save a few bucks.

Resort is ultra clean; food is top shelf, if you don't want buffet-style meals (and PLENTY of choices at each meal; excellent quality and choices as the menu changes with each meal) then reserve a table early for each meal at the oceanside sit-down restaraunt in the resort. It's fully paid for with the all-inclusive pass and the food and service are great.

All rooms are fully air conditioned; very spacious; and come with a small fridge stocked daily with bottled water, beer, and pop. Mini bar (alcohol dispenser) in each room too; 4 bottles to choose from; usually vodka, tequila, rum and a scotch... nothing too premium but hey... all-inclusive and you have booze in your room.

I guess if there's a downside; the pools all close by 8pm or 10pm for cleaning... same with all the poolside swim-up bars... other than that, a great resort... lots of activities in or outside of the Riu; plenty of excursions you can partake in for decent prices as those are not included with the all-inclusive packages (truly the way to go)

The resort is beachfront; directly across the Bay from the Famous Lover's Beach at Land's End... great photos just from the edge of the resort. You can rent a jet ski; take a parasail ride; book a snorkel or SCUBA dive or even a sunset beachfront horseback ride all from the edge of the resort at the oceanfront. Their tap water is all fully treated; it is drinkable and yes you can even eat the ice...

All in all, excellent resort for the price. Unless you are truly in need of a 5-diamond room with full roomservice daily; then you shouldn't be disappointed there.
